Uppal elevated corridor: Nitin Gadkari assures to issue tenders in a week
Uppal MLA NVSS Prabhakar on Thursday met Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi and submitted a representation regarding the long pending project of the four-lane elevated corridor from Uppal to Narapally.
He explained that the project implementation, would ease heavy congestion at Uppal that connects to Warangal and also decongest the traffic flow towards LB Nagar following which the Union Minister assured that the tenders would be issued in a week and asked the state government to acquire land for the project on a war footing.
The 6.4-km and four-lane corridor project worth Rs 960 crore has been in the offing for several months now. Despite repeated assurances, the funds have not been sanctioned and so far around Rs 360 crore has been allocated for the land acquisition.
NVSS Prabhakar also met Union minister of state for science and technology and earth sciences, Sujana Chowdary where he addressed the proposed Uppal Walkway project which would take off only if Geological Survey of India alienates its land for the project.
Later, he met Union railway minister Piyush Goyal regarding the comprehensive development of Moula Ali station, the establishment of Cherlapally railway terminal along with funds for both the projects and speed up the MMTS Phase-2 project.
Piyush Goyal assured the Minister of allotting the required funds during this financial year.
