Revanth spits venom at KCR yet again
Hyderabad: Congress leader A Revanth Reddy on Monday alleged that the State government was trying to bring an ordinance to regularise the assigned lands only to benefit Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s family members and industrialist J Rameshwar, adding that this was the biggest land scam in the State.
Addressing a press conference here, Revanth Reddy said, “The government is trying to regularise the lands which have been taken by ‘Chief Minister’s benami’ and industrialist Jupally Rameshwar, who has 4,000 to 5,000 acres of land of which 1,500 to 2,000 acres are assigned lands.” Revanth Reddy asked what the reason was to bring an ordinance after proroguing the Assembly.
“If it was to benefit the poor, the government should have convened the Assembly and taken up amendment in the Act after discussion, but the Assembly was prorogued and now it is trying to bring ordinance. This is the biggest scam in the State by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and his benami Rameshwar,” alleged Revanth Reddy.
Revanth Reddy recalled that the Congress government in 2007 brought amendment to Land Transfer Prohibition Act 1975. However, it was stalled by the court on a petition filed by Bojja Tarakam. The State government was trying to bring the amendment in the form of an ordinance.
He alleged that J Rameshwar had taken 4,000 to 5,000 acres including about 2,000 acres of assigned lands in 10 villages including Muchintal, Nagaram and Nagireddypalli in Maheshwaram and in Shamshabad mandal. He said the amendment by the Congress government proposed regularising lands prior to May 29, 2007 but the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government was trying to extend the date to June 2, 2014.
“I am making allegations directly against the Chief Minister. He should file cases against me or should order inquiry and I will prove,” said Revanth Reddy. He asked the TRS leaders and Ministers to reply to his allegations.
