KCR meets Jaitley, Asks Centre to fulfill old promises
Hyderabad : Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has asked Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley to sanction All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Indian Institute of Management (IIM) to the Telangana state as promised earlier.
The Chief Minister met Arun Jaitley on Thursday evening and discussed with him on several financial issues. The CM has reminded the union finance minister about the Centre’s earlier promise on sanctioning an AIIMS to the State. He said that the Telangana Government was ready to provide land and infrastructure if the AIIMs is sanctioned to the State. He also said that Union Minister Smriti Irani had promised to sanction IIM to the state and accordingly it should be sanctioned.
KCR thanked the union finance Minister for extending Rs 450 Crore every year to 9 backward districts by enlisting them among the backward districts among the old 10 districts in the State. The CM wanted as was done for the past three years; in the 2018-19 Budget Rs 450 Crore should be released. He wanted the continuance of 3.5 percent of FRBM limit.
MP Jitendra Reddy, Chief Advisor to the government Rajiv Sharma, Principal Secretaries S. Narsing Rao and Ramakrishna Rao has accompanied the CM.
