Birthday wishes pour in for KCR
Hyderabad: Amidst much fanfare, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s birthday was celebrated on a grand scale in the State. While President Ram Nath Kovind conveyed birthday greetings to KCR over phone on Saturday morning and wished a long and healthy life for the Chief Minister, the ruling TRS party conducted blood donation camps, cake cutting and fruit and clothes distribution to the poor. Sewing machines were also distributed to women on the occasion.
On his birthday, KCR and his wife Shobha Rao performed puja at a temple and sought the blessings of priests. The Chief Minister’s childhood teacher V Mrityunjaya Sharma also blessed the former. Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Health Minister Prakash Nadda, Governor E S L Narasimhan, Maharashtra Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao, AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh, Leader of Opposition in the Assembly K Jana Reddy and MP Jyotiraditya Scindia were among the VIPs who extended greetings.
As he was away in Chennai on a programme, State IT and Industry Minister K T Rama Rao tweeted on his father’s birthday. “Wish you many many years of good health & loads of happiness dad.” State Cabinet Ministers, MPs, MLAs, officials and TRS leaders made a beeline to the Chief Minister’s camp office at Pragathi Bhavan to extend greetings to KCR since morning. Agriculture Minister P Srinivas Reddy, Chief Secretary S K Joshi and Telugu film Director Narayanamurthy were among others who greeted KCR at his camp office.
KCR’s daughter K Kavitha participated in the ‘Homam’ at famous Ujjaini Mahankali temple in the city and Animal Husbandry Minister T Srinivas Yadav cut a cake as part of the birthday celebrations. TRS General Secretary J Santhosh Rao also participated in the party chief’s birthday celebrations conducted at People’s Plaza. TRS MLC Shambhipur Raju and other party leaders took active part in the birthday celebrations at different parts of the city.
