Hyderabad: Though Racha konda police claimed to have solved the Chilkanagar infant murder case, many questions still remain unanswered. For one thing, the identity of the child’s parents has not yet been established. No infant missing case was reported in any of the city police stations. It led to suspicion whether the baby was sold to murderers.

The decapitated head of a baby, aged between three and six months, was found on February 1 on the terrace of a building belonging to Kerukonda Rajashekar at Chilkanagar.

Interestingly, the complainant was charged with the murder. The alleged accused K Rajashekar (40), a cab driver, and his wife K Srilatha (35) were arrested on February 15.

The grisly murder of the girl child was declared by the Rachakonda police as an act of human sacrifice, but there was not adequate evidence found against alleged accused. The police alleged that the accused performed the kshudra puja (black magic) by watching Youtube videos, but there were no such videos available on the free video sourcing website.

In such scenario, if it is the case of human sacrifice then there could be several others involved in the heinous act. As of now only houseowner and his wife were charged. Earlier police said the accused killed the baby at Pratap Singaram village along the river Musi and took the decapitated head in a polythene bag, but no one knew where the bag, a vital clue.

According to police, the head was placed inside the house and performed the kshudra puja and brought it to the terrace to catch the rays of the lunar eclipse. While shifting the head from room to rooftop there was no blood spilled anywhere in the house except the one which police found using chemiluminescence technology after nine days of the crime.

Another prominent question in this case, how was that the accused, who had deliberately destroyed all the shreds of evidence to escape from the clinches of law, kept the severed head on his rooftop.

Additional Commissioner of Police, Malkajgiri, G Sandeep, said they did not find any polythene cover or involvement of exorciser. He said, “The investigation is underway, we cannot reveal details at this stage.” He admitted that the identity of the baby was not yet established.
