Nawab Fazal Jah, Son of Hyderabad’s last Nizam passes away
Hyderabad: Nawab Fazal Jah Bahadur, the last surviving son of the Seventh Nizam, the last ruler of the erstwhile princely state Hyderabad, Nawab Sir Mir Osman Ali Khan Bahadur and late Leela Begum Sahiba, passed away here on Sunday after a brief illness. He was 72.
He is survived by his wife Sahabzadi Darwerunnisa Begum Sahiba and a son. According to the royal family members, Fazal Jah Bahadur spent most of his time and money on the improvements to Masjid-e-Judi Mosque building and checking the day-to-day affairs of the mosque, where his father is buried. He was also a trustee of the HEH Nizam Religious Trust.
“He was a thorough gentleman and had a loving personality by nature due to which he was respected by all members of the Nizam family,” Nawab Najaf Ali Khan, a grandson of the Seventh Nizam and president of the Nizam Family Welfare Association, told The Hindu sharing the news of the royal family member's demise.
In family gatherings, Nawab Fazal Jah Bahadur preferred to spend time with the younger generations, he added. The mortal remains of Fazal Jah Bahadur were buried in Masjid-e-Judi Mosque in King Koti.
