Two held for making gutka

Hyderabad: The LB Nagar Zone Special Operation Team (SOT) and Meerpet police nabbed two persons for illegally manufacturing gutka on Sunday. The accused were identified as Muppala Madhu (27) resident of Meerpet, Gottipati Madhu (21) resident of Vanastalipuram.

According to police, the accused obtained the license to manufacture namkeens and pan masala (without tobacco and nicotine), and mouth freshener made up of dry fruits and nuts, but in contrary, they started producing tobacco products.

The police seized manufacturing machine, gutka powder mixing machine, 6000 gutka packets, 35 kg Calcium Hydroxide, 8 kg zarda, LLP food grade oil, 25 kg supari, one kg Menthol, and three mobile phones.
