Second 'Sainik Samkshema Sabha' held in Warangal

Warangal Urban : The Telangana Government is committed for the welfare of ex-servicemen and various steps have been taken already in this direction, said Rajya Sabha member Capt. V. Lakshmikantha Rao. 

Addressing the second mega ex-servicemen welfare event in Telugu states held at Warangal Institute of medical Sciences today, Rao also informed that the state government will provide 2% of the double bed room houses to the ex-servicemen.

Speaking on the occasion, General Officer Commanding, Telangana & Andhra Sub Area, Major General N. Srinivas Rao said that Ex-servicemen Contributory Health Scheme is providing high quality treatment of ESM and their dependents.   He requested you all to register in ECHS and avail the medical facility provided by ECHS. Similar meetings will be organized in all districts of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states in a phased manner. The objective of Sainik Samkshema Sabha is to reach out to the veterans and interact with ex-servicemen, veer naris and widows, share the latest initiatives of Ministry of Defence and State Governments with them to create awareness of various benefits and schemes extended to them. 

The event was conducted by General Officer Commandant, Telangana & Andhra Sub Area along with State Sainik Welfare Department, Government of Telangana and NCC Directorate. This is the second ‘Sainik Samkshema Sabha’ and the first one was held in Nalgonda town. 

Director Sainik Welfare Department, Telangana State, Col P Ramesh Kumar, Director ECHS, Director Veterans, Regional Sainik Welfare officers, DPDO, SBI, Andhra Bank officers, EME, AOC & Artillery records officers participated in the programme. 

The entire pension, document problems and other grievances were resolved. In the ECHS polyclinic set up at the venue with specialists, more than 200 participants were treated and provided medicines on the spot. Arrangement for CSD Canteen was also made to provide essential items to all ex-servicemen and their families. Over 500 ex-servicemen and their families attended the event.  This was the first Sainik Samkshema Sabha in the state and many more such events would be conducted throughout the state.
