TSCOP mobile app bags NCRB award
Hyderabad: The Telangana State police has bagged the NCRB (National Crime Records Bureau) award for TSCOP mobile app for the year 2017, under the category ‘Empowering police with Information Technology.’
In November 2017, nominations were received from seven States and Union Territories, including Andhra Pradesh, Chandigarh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Uttarakhand, under the category of ‘Empowering police with IT’.
After scrutiny by the committee of judges, the IT project of Telangana State titled ‘TSCOP real-time policing,’ has been adjudged as the best IT project for 2017. This trophy will be presented during the closing ceremony of All India Police Duty Meet at Chennai, Tamil Nadu on February 28.
TSCOP is a mobile based application for the internal use of Telangana Police. The objectives are to make required information accessible instantaneously to the frontline police officers for addressing individual needs can improve their morale & satisfaction and eventually lead to higher standards in their functioning.
Accordingly, all the IT applications and databases currently in use in Telangana State Police has been made available to the officers in the field through this TSCOP application on smart phones of all officers and staff of Telangana State.
In an official communication, Sanjay Mathur, Joint Director, NCRB, congratulated the Telangana police. “It gives me immense pleasure in informing you that the IT project of Telangana State has been adjudged as the best IT project for 2017. I, on behalf of NCRB congratulate the Telangana police for winning the NCRB’s trophy,” he stated in letter address to DGP.
