ACB conducts raids on HMDA director's house, Rs 1.7 crore worth items seized

HMDA director K Purushottam Reddy’s house in Banjara Hills was raided by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths on Sunday and Rs 1.7 crore including Rs 50 lakh worth jewellery was seized.

The officer surrendered before the court last week following which ACB obtained his custody for six days. 

The police took Purushottam to his house at Sagar Society in Banjara Hills on the third day of his custody.

A team of ACB sleuths led by deputy director M Madhusudhan Reddy searched the duplex house with a penthouse in the presence of the officer.

During the searches conducted at the place, Rs 1.7 crore worth assets including ₹50 lakh worth diamond, gold and silver ornaments wear unearthed. Further, Rs 1.05 lakh cash, Rs 9,000 demonetised currency, 501 US dollars, sarees worth Rs 20 lakh, 265 UAE dirhams, illegal penthouse built with Rs 20 lakh, foreign liquor worth Rs 70,000, and Rs 60 lakh worth household articles including teak furniture were also found.
