The two sisters, Sana Sultana and Shameem Sultana returned home after they were helped by a volunteer from Kerala, Manjula Manikantan.

The sisters reportedly even attempted suicide unable to deal with the harassment. They were taken to a hospital, from where Qatif police took them into custody. The police contacted Manjula Manikantan after coming to know about the plight of the two women and a case was filed at Dammam labour court, to release the women from the clutches of their sponsor.

However, with the sponsor also filing a case against the women at Qatif court, the matter was unresolved and it was reported to Indian Embassy in Riyadh. Following this, the women were rescued and returned home.

The sisters, who suffered for two years in Saudi Arabia urged people not to fall prey to the promises of agents providing jobs in Saudi Arabia.
