KCR bats for stronger states

Hyderabad: After his announcement to foray into national politics, TRS president K Chandrashekhar Rao is set to unveil a unique national political agenda of the proposed Third Front, an alternative to the BJP and Congress, in June.

KCR is learnt to have already begun exercise to prepare the agenda in consultation with some policy makers and political pundits. The main agenda of the Front will be strengthening of federal structure by delegating more powers to the states, farmers welfare, more devolution to the performing states, special attention to poor states and accord freedom to the states to finalise reservation to the downtrodden based on the socio-economic situation at local level. 

Sources said that KCR will roll out the national political agenda of the new front in New Delhi. Before that, the TRS leader will chalk out a programme to hold a series of meetings with various organisations, associations and individuals at India level and seek their suggestions.

To begin with, KCR will meet the retired All India Service Officers like IAS, IPS, IFS and IRS who were part of administration of the country at various levels and have had a lot of experience. As these retired officers have seen political developments closely at state and all-India level, meeting with them will be highly useful he feels.

The Chief Minister would also have a meeting with retired Defence (Army, Navy and Air Force) personnel and officers, legal luminaries and advocates, all-India level farmers’ associations and associations from all states, central services retired officers and employees’ associations of all states. 

He will also meet economists and retired finance secretaries of the Government of India. These meetings will be followed with meetings with media houses, journalists, industrial houses, labour organisations and so on; one after the other.

KCR is planning to hold meetings in Hyderabad and as well as in New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata and Bengaluru. Brisk work is going on to organise these meetings and lists of various organisations as detailed above are being collected. A coordination team has been formed for the successful conduct of these meetings.
