Four Railway Stations on SCR become “All Women Employees Stations”
Hyderabad : The South Central Railway took a significant stride on Thursday by making four railway stations on the Zone “All Women Employees Stations” to coincide with the International Women’s Day.
The four stations are - Begumpet in Secunderabad Division, Vidyanagar in Hyderabad Division, Chandragiri in Guntakal Division and New Guntur in Guntur Division. With effect from today, all the four stations will see Women Employees handling the duties in all working spheres.
SCR General Manager Vinod Kumar Yadav visited Begumpet Railway station and formally declared it as “All Women Employees Station” in the presence of Amit Varadan, Divisional Railway Manager, Secunderabad Division and other Senior Officials today. The General Manager personally greeted the Women Employees posted at Begumpet Railway Station and extended them wishes for the International Women’s Day. He also greeted the Women loco pilot of MMTS train passing through the station at that time, Satyavathi for dedicatedly pursuing her duties. He inaugurated a Sanitary Napkin Vending Machine installed at waiting hall of Begumpet Railway Station, for the convenience of women rail users.
Later, the General Manager interacted with the media present at Begumpet and detailed them the steps being taken by SCR for enhancing convenience of Women rail users. While Sanitary Napkin Vending Machines have already been installed at several railway stations, with a view to meet the special needs, “Baby Feeding Centres” have been provided at Secunderabad, Kacheguda, Nanded and Aurangabad Stations. Security of Women passengers is heightened by deployment of Nirbhaya Squads comprising of lady ticket checking and Railway Protection Force personnel in suburban trains in the city, he added. Very soon, Phirangipuram in Guntur Division and Ramavarapadu in Vijayawada Division will also become “All Women Employees Stations”, the General Manager said.
