Mayor lauds women's role in Swachh Survekshan programmes
Hyderabad : GHMC Mayor Dr. Bonthu Rammohan said that women have been playing a vital role in Swachch Survekshan programmes.
The Swachh Mission programme which was started with deployment of 120 women representatives as Swachh Dooths, today have around 2,200 Swachh Dooth participating in the Swachh Bharath Mission. They are creating awareness and educating the households about wet and dry segregation of garbage waste covering more than 11 lakhs households in the GHMC limits.
Dr. Rammohan, GHMC Commissioner Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy, along with the senior officials, have participated in the International Women's Day celebrations held at Hari Hara Kala Bhavan today. After interaction with the Swachh Dhooth women's the officials have arranged a lottery programme to pick 10 Swachh Dhooth women to pay cash incentives of Rs. 10,000/- each and also selected another 10 people who have given correct answers on mosquito app quiz and cash incentives of Rs. 10,000 was also announced to each women as a token of encouragement to them. Wow as a part of CSR activity of ITC has sponsored gift hampers to 10 Swachh dooth women.
The Mayor said that GHMC will be utilizing the services of Swachh Dhooth women to make plastic and pollution free city in the coming days as the city is experiencing usage of huge quantity of plastic in different modes everyday to curb such menace these women will be deployed to make plastic and pollution free city.
The GHMC Commissioner said that the entire month of March will be celebrated as Swachh Mahila Month by the GHMC and further praised the services rendered by the Swachh Dhooth women for their effective performance in the Swachh Bharath mission creating awareness about segregation of wet and garbage waste and also educating the households due to their efforts the number of green and blue dust bins distributed to collect garbage have significantly increase.
