Update: 2018-03-17 21:38 IST

TRS MP K Kavitha attended the ‘Leadership Summit – Led by Women’ organised by the Centre for Management Studies of the Nalsar University of Law in Hyderabad on Saturday.

Speaking at the gathering, she said that the time has come for the Women’s Reservation Bill to be passed and is hopeful it will be in the next session of the Parliament.

Kavitha added that the bill will certainly bring forth the required change in the women’s representation in politics and help fight for women’s rights.

Highlighting the various issues women face on a daily basis in society such as pay gap, domestic violence, safety and security, she said there is a need for women to be bold and not shy away from demanding their rights.

The TRS MP, however, also expressed concern on women empowerment and related issues discussions being held only in March and not throughout the year.

She even advised women to turn a little deaf to criticism if they want to succeed.
