Day after wife’s suicide, cop ends life in Mahabubnagar

A police officer committed suicide by hanging himself early morning on Friday in Mahbubnagar, just a few hours after his wife killed herself in Hyderabad.

The officer, Ravi from Koilkonda police station, worked in the fingerprinting department.

According to the police, Ravi’s wife Ranjita was depressed as she was unable to conceive and committed suicide on Thursday. 24 hours later, Ravi too committed suicide by hanging himself at his residence.

Family members found his body hanging and alerted the police.

The couple got married two years ago and didn’t have any kids. Ranjita was even undergoing treatment to be able to conceive, but with the treatment not yielding any successful results, she hung herself.
