TRS rule will be remembered as Dark Chapter in Telangana's history: Uttam
Hyderabad : Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the TRS rule would be remembered as the Dark Chapter in the history of Telangana.
Having a live interaction with Congress party workers on social media platform Facebook on Tuesday, Uttam Kumar Reddy said Telangana was apparently the only State among 29 other States in the country where the ruling party suspended all members of main opposition for the entire session to approve the annual budget without discussion. He said never in the history of independent India that the elected representatives were treated in such a manner wherein two MLAs were expelled from the House based on a fictitious story weaved by the Chief Minister (K. Chandrashekhar Rao) and all other members were suspended for the entire session.
Strongly defending protest by Congress MLAs during the address of Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan to the joint session of Telangana Legislature on March 12, the TPCC Chief said that the Congress members were silent for the first 10 minutes. Since the Governor's speech had no mention of farmers' welfare, the Congress legislatures protested. He said it was a common practice for opposition members to register their protest on particular issues in both Assemblies and Parliament. However, the TRS Government floated a fictitious story of attack on Council Chairman Swamy Goud and implemented the conspiracy to throw out all Congress members from the House. He said TRS MPA members, including KCR's daughter K. Kavitha, was holding similar protests in the Parliament. "If suspension of members protesting the House was a norm, then why TRS MPs are not being suspended from the Parliament?" he asked.
Uttam Kumar Reddy said that there was a larger conspiracy behind suspension of Congress MLAs. He said that the Congress legislators were fully prepared to expose the failures of TRS Government and a decision was taken to pressurise the government to allocate sufficient funds to fulfil electoral promises in the last budget before next elections. He said Congress was so serious about the budget session that it had stopped the Praja Chaitanya Yatra to facilitate all legislators from participating in the discussions. Sensing that the TRS Government would be fully exposed, KCR hatched a conspiracy to prevent all Congress MLAs and MLCs from entering the Assembly and Council. He said KCR has violated all democratic norms and had set many bad precedents in a new State.
The TPCC chief said that the first phase of bus yatra was highly successful in all the 17 Assembly segments which were covered. He said the public response to bus yatra was overwhelming.
He informed that the second phase of bus yatra would be launched on April 1 from Ramagundam. He said bus yatra and meetings would be held in Manthani on April 2, Bhupalpally on April 3, Station Ghanpur on April 4 and other areas including Narsampet, Warangal, Parkal, Mahabubabad and Bhadrachalam would be covered in the second phase.
Shanta from Bellampally, Kalinga Raju from Parkal, Tirupati Naik from Narsampet, Ankush from Warangal, Shekher from Nagarjunasagar, Khwaja Pasha from Jadcherla and other party workers spoke to the TPCC chief in one-hour live programme. Replying to different questions, Uttam Kumar Reddy appealed them the entire cadre to actively participate in the bus yatra. He said TRS Government has shattered the dreams of lakhs of jobless youth of Telangana State while he accommodated four members of his family on top positions. He said irrigation projects were redesigned only to escalate the costs and get 6% commission from the contractors.
Uttam Kumar Reddy also appealed Muslims to realise the cheating being done by KCR on 12% Muslim reservation issue since the last four years. He said TRS openly supported the BJP Government at the Centre and KCR praised Prime Minister Narender Modi on every occasion during the last four years. However, in view of next elections, the TRS MPs are enacting the drama of protest in the Parliament. He said the problems being faced by the Muslims would not get resolved if KCR wears a 'Topi' (skull cap) and 'Sherwani'. Besides cheating the community on 12% reservation issue, KCR failed to implement other promises of giving judicial powers to Wakf Board, promotion Urdu language, setting up Islamic Centre, etc.,
The TPCC chief said that the TRS Government has also cheated Dalits, Girijans, BCs, women and other communities. He said that the second phase of Praja Chaitanya Bus Yatra would be more aggressive and subject-wise and area-wise failures of TRS Government would be exposed.
