Facebook friends help widow

Dharmapuri: A group of Facebook friends have come together to crowdsource funds to help a destitute woman. Facebook user and social activist Renikunta Ramanaiah has highlighted the plight of a widow K Posavva of Endapalli village in Velgatur mandal through his Facebook account.

 He and his friends raised Rs 90000 crowdsourced the amount. Locals pooled up another Rs 12000. Later, they approached local sarpanch A Gangadhar, who sanctioned a plot to her. The house construced with the help of the local panchayat. 

The house was inaugurated on Wednesday by Dharmapuri tahsildar Navinkumar and CI Lakshmi Babu. The tahsildar donated another Rs 5000 to support the education of Posavva’s two children.
