The meeting between KCR and Soren assumed significance after KCR began the exercise to bring together all the non-BJP and non-Congress political forces for formation of Federal Front before the next elections. KCR recently met his West Bengal counterpart Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata and invited her to join the front.

According to sources, KCR explained to Hemant Soren the importance of the creation of a robust political alternative to BJP and Congress to strengthen the federal system with more powers to the states.

KCR asserted that the formation of the front involving all regional parties was the only way to check the growing dominance of BJP and Congress in the centralised administration at the Centre.

KCR also presented a copy of detailed report prepared by him on the exploitation of powers by the Centre and how the Centre had deprived the states of the benefits they were entitled to. The issue of demand for delegation of more powers to the states, fund allocations and project approvals from the Centre were also discussed in the meeting.

Hemanth arrived at Pragati Bhavan, KCR’s residence, along with his family members and spent more than three hours. The TRS supremo hosted a lunch with Telangana cuisine to the family of the Jharkhand leader.
