CAG exposed hollowness of TRS Govt's claims: Congress

Update: 2018-03-31 01:57 IST

Hyderabad : Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Chief Spokesperson Dr. Dasoju Sravan said that the TRS Government was apparently the only one in the country which presented loans as State's revenues.

Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan on Friday, Sravan said that the findings in the report of Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) has clearly exposed the hollowness of claims being made by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao's on Telangana's financial situation. He said KCR has been misleading the people by making false claims of Telangana being a revenue surplus and rich State. He said although previous regimes of erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh also took loans in the last 60 years. But they never presented loans as State's revenues.

Sravan said that the CAG findings show that TRS Government has used inflated figures to present a revenue surplus budget. He said that the Congress party has been raising doubts on the figures presented by the State Government and now the CAG report has proved those fears to be true.

The Congress leader said that after the exposure made by CAG, the TRS Government has no right to continue in power. He alleged that "KCR's dictatorship, Rubber Stamp Ministers and slave-like TRS MLAs" have ruined Telangana in the last four years.
