Hyderabad: The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) is contemplating to file cases against the TRS government for ‘mismanagement of funds’ based on the CAG report. Addressing a press conference along with AICC secretary RC Khuntia and other leaders before leaving for Ramagundam to launch the second phase of the Praja Chaitanya Bus Yatra, TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy said the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) has exposed the KCR government on the budget figures.

Uttam alleged that this was done not only to mislead the people to show that Telangana was richest and revenue-surplus state, but also to cheat the financial institutions to get more loans. He said the TRS government has committed a serious economic crime which is unprecedented in the entire country.

The TPCC president said the Congress was exploring all legal means to take action against the Chief Minister, Finance Minister, Finance Secretary and other officials concerned who manipulated the figures to show a deficit budget as revenue-surplus budget. He said the KCR government has also violated the FRBM ceiling of 3.5% and borrowed loans up to 4.8%. He said this violation was another economic offence which badly hurts the interests of Telangana.

Uttam said the CAG has also exposed the diversion of funds from the SC Sub-Plan for other purposes. He alleged that the government has been wasting public money and securing huge loans for various projects only to get commission from the contractors.

He said the Congress would expose the criminal acts of the TRS government and the implications of its financial fraud before the people during the second phase of bus yatra which would continue for 10 days from Sunday.

Earlier in the day, Uttam Kumar Reddy had live interactions with party workers on social media platform Facebook. He slammed the TRS government for "murdering the democracy" by expelling two MLAs and suspending all other members of main Opposition Congress for the entire budget session blaming them for an incident that never occurred. He said Speaker S Madhusudan Chary did not do his duty and acted in a partisan manner to target the Congress MLAs.

He reiterated that the allegation of attack on Council Chairman Swamy Goud on March 12 was fake. He said KCR has weaved a fabricated story only to throw out the Congress members from the House so that he could shield his failures from the people.

Uttam said the resignation of the Advocate-General, who had promised to submit the video footage of the Assembly before the court, was evidence that the TRS government had lied on the attack.
