Hyderabad: Communist Party of India (CPI) general secretary Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy stressed on a collaboration of both left parties, the CPI and CPI (M) by mutual discussions.

Addressing the gathering in the CPI Second State Congress meet here on Monday, he said political struggles on people’s issues are different from the election strategies. There may be some differences between the two communist parties but, they could be resolved through discussions, he added.

Underlining the need to strengthen the left movements in the country, Sudhakar Reddy said, "For this, left, Dalit and secular forces should mount a united fight to strengthen the people's movements to defeat the communal forces.” He called upon both the parties to hold protests in all the State capitals of the country in May.

He said that CPI along with other left parties would take part in the National Congress of the CPI (M) scheduled to be held in Hyderabad.

Highlighting the agrarian crisis in the country, the CPI general secretary said, farmers across the country have been struggling as they are not getting Minimum Support Price (MSP) due to the middlemen. Taking a dig at the BJP, he said it had been increasingly becoming a fascist party under the shadow of Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh (RSS).
