Hyderabad: Alleging that the State in under autocratic rule, Telangana JAC chairman Prof M Kodandaram on Wednesday said that Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) would fulfil democratic aspirations of the people by achieving victory in coming up polls.

The JAC chief and other leaders launched the TJS party flag and released a poster for the public meeting on April 29. Speaking on the occasion, Kodandaram alleged that State was under dictatorial rule of the ruling party.

“People are saying this government has come to power because of their efforts. It should work for them and not show authority on them,” said Kodandaram, adding that the youth want employment and good salaries.

Stating that this was a beginning and there were many fights in the way, the JAC chief said, “We have walked 99 kilometres and there is one more kilometre to reach the target.” He further added that TJS was strength of the people and would achieve victory in 2019 polls. Kodandaram added that political process was necessary to create ideological awareness among people. He said that there was no going back now and added that the TJS should move in the right path.

Stating that many had doubts on the strength of TJS, he said that they would understand about this after meeting on April 29. “The Tatas and Birlas fought against Indira Gandhi and we thought it would be end of the Congress leader because of their money power. But they all were washed out,” said Kodandaram.

He also recalled the victory of Aam Aadmi Party stating that it had come to power with its broom. He said that people of Telangana were the same people who voted the present MLAs. “If we decide, there is nothing which we cannot change,” Kodandaram said.

Explaining about the flag, the JAC chief said the light blue colour resembles the colour of Indian Roller (Palapitta), which resembles victory. “During Dasara, we see ‘Palapitta’ which is a sign of victory. The green colour is for development, agriculture and human development, there is memorial of the martyrs, above it there are white lines, which are jasmine flowers, there is a red spot, which resembles the aspirations of people. The yellow colour is people surrounding the aspiration,” said Kodandaram.
