NSSO trainers 2-day workshop commences

Hyderabad: The National Sample Survey Office (NSSO) of ministry of statistics and programme implementation, Government of India launched began two-day training session for All India Workshop of Trainers (AIWOT) for the 76th round here on Thursday. 

The workshop was inaugurated by PC Mohanan, member, National Statistical Commission, Dr. G.C. Manna, member, Working Group on NSS 76th Round and DP Mondal, director general, Sample Surveys, NSSO. The workshop is being attended by officers of NSSO and the state governments. Socio-Economic Surveys conducted by the NSSO during its different rounds are the primary source of various indicators used by the government for planning, policy formulation and evidence-based decision making. 

The 76th round of NSS is devoted to the subjects ‘disability’ and ‘drinking water, sanitation, hygiene and housing condition’.  The NSSO and the state governments will carry out the 76th round of survey for six months from July 1 throughout the country. 

During the two days of workshop, detailed training will be imparted to the officers from field offices for effective implementation of the guidelines for data collection in the field.
