Uttam accepts KTR's challenge, again

Parkal : Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy has accepted the challenge posed by IT Minister K. Tarakarama Rao and announced that he would quit politics if Congress party fails to win next elections.
 
Addressing a massive public meeting at Parkal on the 13th day of Congress Praja Chaitanya Bus Yatra on Friday, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that he had seen KTR's statement in some newspapers challenging him on leaving politics in case of Congress party's defeat. He said although he had replied to KTR's challenge in the past, he would reiterate the announcement that he would quit politics if Congress fails to return to power in Telangana in next elections. "Today is the 13th day of bus yatra and so far we have covered 23 Assembly constituencies. Based on the overwhelming response which we got throughout the bus yatra, I can comfortably that the Congress party would sweep the next polls. The rising Congress wave will reduce TRS to a non-entity in Telangana politics," he said.
 
He said that he had served the Indian Air Force as fighter pilot and protected the country on China and Pakistan borders. He said he would serve the people of Telangana and Congress party with the same dedication and commitment.
 
Uttam Kumar Reddy described TRS rule as "Rakshasa Paripalana" (Devil's Regime) wherein Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao and his family is living a lavish lifestyle on public money while common people are suffering. He said over four crore people of Telangana have lost all their hopes on TRS Government as KCR has failed to fulfil any of the promises made to them. Neither 12% reservation for Muslims or STs was implemented, nor was double bed room houses provided to poor people. There is not a single major promise which TRS can claim to have fulfilled. Despite such a poor performance, KCR Government has adopted a highly arrogant attitude. He said expulsion of Komatireddy Venkatreddy and A. Sampath Kumar from Assembly membership was the result of both arrogance and fear of being exposed by the Congress party.
 
The TPCC Chief warned the officials, especially the police personnel, against harassing the Congress workers. He said that the Congress was all set to come to power in next elections and those harassing the Congress activists would face severe consequences. He assured all the Congress workers that the entire leadership was with them and they would rush to their rescue if they face any problem.
 
Uttam Kumar Reddy also informed the huge crowd about various schemes that the Congress wish to implement after coming to power which include waiving off crop loans up to Rs. 2 lakh in a single take and economic empowerment of women associated with 6 lakh Self Help Groups. He also announced that lakhs of new jobs would be created and unemployment allowance of Rs. 3 lakh would be given all jobless youth.
 
He also informed that the bus yatra would be halted for a day on Saturday in view of demise of Khammam DCC president Aitham Satyam. The bus yatra would resume on April 8 and meetings will be held in Dornakal and Mahabubabad as scheuled.
 
The meeting, organised by Eagala Venkatram Reddy, was also attended by senior leaders including Nandi Yellaiah, Shabbir Ali, A. Sampath Kumar, Ponnam Prabhakar, Jeevan Reddy, Ramohan Reddy, Akula Lalitha, Gudur Narayana Reddy, Donthi Madhava Reddy, Indira Shobhan, Vijaya Rama Rao and other leaders.
