Assistant engineer caught accepting Rs 1 lakh bribe

An assistant engineer from the Irrigation Department was caught on Friday by the ACB sleuths taking a bribe of Rs 1 lakh from the complainant at Choutuppal in Hyderabad.

The accused, P Raju from Narayanpur, Yadadri Bhongir district was caught accepting a Rs 1 lakh bribe from the complainant U Rajesh, a civil contractor at a parking place in Chinnakondur Road.

Raju demanded the bribe to for check measuring and forwarding the M Book (measurement book) relevant to village tank restoration works to the Deputy Engineer of the Irrigation Department in the Choutuppal Division. 

The ACB sleuths recovered the bribe and arrested Raju.
