Hyderabad: Man arrested for murder of Metro engineer’s wife
The murder of L&T engineer’s wife caused a sensation in Hyderabad after she was found dead inside her Erragadda flat.
A former colleague of the engineer was arrested on Friday in connection with the case three days after the murder.
Soumya was stabbed to death and her body was set on fire in her apartment on April 3 in Nanda Nagar when her husband Nagabhushanam, a civil engineer with L&T, was at work.
According to the details, the suspect, Prakash, a civil engineer from Anantapur, came to Hyderabad to meet Nagabhushanam, a day before Soumya’s murder. After learning of Nagabhushanam’s absence in the apartment, Prakash went to his flat and killed Soumya.
He later dumped Soumya’s cellphone in the toilet’s flush tank before escaping from the flat.
Police retrieved data from the phone and found out about the involvement of Prakash.
At present, police are questioning Prakash on the motive and looking at the possible involvement of others.
