Hyderabad: The ruling Telangana RashtraSamithi (TRS) is getting ready to organise party plenary on April 24, and a public meeting on April 27.
According to sources, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has decided on the dates and asked the party leaders to make necessary arrangements. During the plenary, the party leaders would discuss several development works taken up by the government in the last four years, besides chalking out future course of action.
Since this would be the plenary of the election year, the TRS chief is likely to come up with a new scheme, said sources. It is learnt that the Chief Minister would announce filling up of government vacancies during the meeting.
It has been 17 years since the formation of the party in 2001 on April 27 in Jaladrushyam in the city. The party has seen ups and downs during its journey, especially during statehood struggle.
The party is likely to prepare a strategy for the next elections and discuss the schemes of the government during the plenary. It is learnt that the leaders are busy finalising the schedule. The previous plenary was held in the city, and this year also the meeting is likely to take place in the city. The venue might be in areas like Medchal or Ibrahimpatnam.

With the party proposing to organise public meeting on April 27, the Maha Sabha is likely to be postponed, said a senior leader in the party.
Sources further added that the Chief Minister is likely to disclose the agenda of the Federal Front proposed by him. He had already entrusted the work of drafting the policy of the front to MP K Keshava Rao. The party would also invite senior leaders of other political parties to the public meeting.
