Jaipal rips into KCR for kowtowing to Modi
Hyderabad: Former Union Minister and senior leader of Congress S Jaipal Reddy on Saturday alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been spying on Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and this has made the Telangana Chief Minister to be afraid of the Prime Minister.
Addressing the media, Jaipal Reddy refuted the comments that he was behind TJAC chairman Kodandaram for floating Telangana Jana Samithi. He said that he did not want to make a comment on the party at this time. He said that Kodandaram was a good person individually. Reddy said that the people of the country have seen a stalemate in the Parliament, which never took place in the past.
He said that though all the opposition parties have come together and proposed a no confidence motion, the ruling party blocked it from taking up for discussion. The ruling party did not allow for discussion on the no confidence fearing expose of its lapses. The Telangana Rashtra Samithi and All India Dravida Munnetra Kazagham have helped the ruling party in this, he said and added that TRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao must spell out with whom he has been siding.
He criticised that TRS has become a follower of the BJP and the third front being proposed by KCR has received no attention and his idea has flopped. Though the people are opposing Prime Minister Narendra Modi, TRS president KCR is refusing to dump him. Even at the time of elections, KCR may not leave Modi, he opined and said that the minorities should not trust the Chief Minister since he was a friend of Modi.
Jaipal Reddy said that the TRS has failed to fight against the Centre on achieving the promises made in the AP Reorganisation Act to Telangana like setting up of AIIMS and steel factory at Bayyaram. Speaking on the reprimands of Comptroller and Auditor General of India on the budgets of Telangana, he said that the heavy borrowings made by the government by showing the assets, which did not exist, has led to the rise of inflation.
The present government has borrowed two times more than the previous governments and this would cast a burden on the people. The former Union Minister demanded that inquiry should be held on those who allowed more borrowings than the FRBM limit. He pointed out that President of Brazil Dilma Rousseff was impeached for borrowing by hiding the deficit in the budget and several countries consider this as a crime. He made it clear that people of Telangana would not forgive Chandrashekar Rao for the burden he has heaped on them. The CAG reports are facts and not fables, he said.
