Officials told to buy maize directly through Markfed

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Saturday instructed State Marketing Department to purchase maize produced by the farmers directly through Markfed (marketing federation). 

The government will pay Rs 1,425 as remunerative price per quintal.   The Chief Minister asked the officials concerned to open purchasing counters and buy the produce without any delay. He warned of stringent action against the brokers who exploited farmers by paying low prices.
