Stamps, registration services at fingertips

Hyderabad:The State Stamps and Registration Department’s services will be at the at the fingertips. The department announced to launch Whatsapp services to the people from April 9 onwards. Within 45 days a call centre will also be opened at the head office in Hyderabad to address people’s grievances.  

The mobile number for Whatsapp service is 7093920206. Citizen can seek information through the Whatsapp which includes the registration process, stamp duty required to pay, challenges they are facing in availing the services and complaints against people who create hurdles and want to exploit etc.  

According to the source, based on the complaints lodged by people through Whatsapp, the District Registrar or DIG concerned will respond within 24 hours. If required, the officials will call the citizens to the number from where the message was sent and address the grievances. The Commissioner and Inspector General will also respond to the complaints in case of urgency. The Commissioner office will maintain a log so that the progress report in addressing the grievances is analysed and deliver better services.
  
The officials said a full-fledged call centre will also start functioning soon. People can call directly and lodge their complaints or issues related to the registration and property disputes, if any, also. 

In view of increasing land transactions and realty business in the recent months in the State, the Registration Department introduced hassle free online mechanism to help people access the services offered by the department directly. The government has already made available online EC service, market value assistance, registration charges calculator and other features provided in a comprehensive web portal of the department.
