Segregation of garbage fetches Rs.11.40 lakh for GHMC

Hyderabad : The GHMC North Zone has provided Dry Resource Collection Centre under Secunderabad Circle area near Sanjeevaiah Park where wet garbage has been segregated which generated a revenue of Rs. 11.40 lakhs only in the month of March 2018.
 
This was done with the help of 123 Swachh Auto Drivers and 85 Rag pickers. As a part of segregation GHMC has distributed 40 lakhs dust bins to the households in GHMC limits.
 
The Swachh Auto Drivers and Rag pickers collect the garbage waste from the households and transport to transfer stations and the wet garbage waste will be dumped at DRCC centre at Sanjeevaiah Park where the various different agencies will sort out the wet waste.
 
In the month of March, 181 metric tons of 15 different types of wet garbage waste like black plastic, water bottles, plastic waste, broken glass pieces, beer bottles etc., was segregated. It was later sold to the concerned agency at the DRCC.
 
The DRCC centres are also working in Rajendranagar, Uppal, LB Nagar, West, Central Zone s etc., and they are fetching up lakhs of rupees from the wet garbage waste.
