Distressed farmer attempts suicide in front of CMO
Hyderabad: A 24-year-old man, who wanted to meet Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to seek his help to bail him out from debts, attempted suicide by consuming poison in front of Pragathi Bhavan on Tuesday. Saidulu, a farmer from Puppalaguda village of Suryapet district, reached the Chief Minister’s official residence and tried to get in, but the security officials denied entry to him.
His cotton crop was reportedly damaged due to the recent rains pushing him in debt trap. The depressed farmer, in a bid to kill himself, consumed poison (pesticide) which he brought along with him. The security wing shifted him to the State-run Gandhi Hospital.
Speaking to The Hans India, Shravan Kumar, Gandhi Hospital Superintendent, said, “He is out of danger, still we have kept him under observation.”
