CBSE files plaint against website

Hyderabad: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) filed an FIR with the Delhi Police against the website owner on the changes of circulating false news.

A CBSE communiqué said the allegations that some questions in JEE (Main) 2018 exam were identical to 2016 mock tests of Narayana Coaching Academy were found baseless.  The board said it was established that the news about JEE (Main) 2018 questions being identical to 2016 mock test was completely baseless and circulated to damage the image of the board.

It was against this backdrop that the CBSE has taken serious cognisance of the situation and filed a written complaint to lodge an FIR against the website owner of cisthetaglobal.com with the DCP (Crime) Delhi Police Headquarters on April 11.

It was pertinent to mention that CBSE has successfully conducted the 6th edition of the JEE (Main) exam on April 8 in 1621 centres across the world for an approximate 10.43 lakh registered candidates.

However, there were rumors that 7 to 8 questions in physics appeared to be exactly similar to those asked by Narayana Academy in the 2016 mock test.  The CBSE stated that the news website carried with a weblink suggested that JEE - 2018 Physics paper has been copied from the model paper of a famous coaching centre.

However, the Narayana Coaching Academy based at Hyderabad has also informed CBSE that the images displayed on the website were not of their Academy. And, the Academy made the news which was in circulation was "fake, baseless and fabricated", it added.

Further, owner of the website which posted the news said on record that this material was received through Whatsappand was uploaded to their website. And, the website has refused to take any responsibility of the material hosted on this link and informed CBSE that the facts of the content/images were not verified and as per their policy and they are not responsible for the information uploaded on the website and that it was displayed as received.

Terming this was unacceptable to the CBSE as it amounts a "callous and irresponsible attitude of the owners has caused undue anxiety and doubt in the public mind regarding the credibility of CBSE and the JEE (Main) exam, which is also a gateway for admission to IIT Advanced examination."
