Irrigation project named after expert R Vidyasagar Rao

The Dindi Lift Irrigation Scheme is all set to be named after Irrigation Expert Late R Vidyasagar Rao.

The decision was taken by the Telangana government on Saturday and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao signed the file in this regard.

The Dindi Lift Irrigation Scheme will supply water for drinking and irrigation in the fluoride, famine-affected areas.

Officials of the Irrigation Department have already been directed to address the project as R Vidyasagar Rao Dindi Lift Irrigation Scheme.

Speaking on this subject, KCR said that Vidyasagar Rao had created awareness among the public on several complicated issues particularly the discrimination and injustices were done to Telangana region in the irrigation sector.

He further said that Vidyasagar Rao aimed to provide safe drinking water to the fluoride affected Nalgonda district and water to the arid lands in the Telangana region.
