Update: 2018-04-15 08:12 IST

Hyderabad: Apparently, with an intention to prepare the most attractive people-centric election manifesto for 2019 elections, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has taken up the mammoth task of compilation of data regarding the beneficiaries of each welfare programme brought out by his government since 2014.

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao instructed all the departments to furnish details of all beneficiaries of his government programmes. The data which includes individual names, residential address and community of the beneficiaries will be used to ascertain the performance of each department and also identify the communities neglected in the extension of benefits under each scheme.

The district-wise data will also help the government to analyse the performance of the ministers and local MLAs in the implementation of the schemes under SDF (special Development Fund) and Constituency Development Fund. State Planning department in coordination with all departments is preparing the data. Besides, the government will ascertain the public grievances pending based on the information furnished by each department.

Officials said that KCR instructed all Secretaries of the departments in the recently held meeting at Pragati Bhavan to prepare the list of people who got benefits under various welfare schemes for the last four years. “KCR wants to know the reach of his government programmes mainly welfare schemes to the people at grassroot level. The CM wants to have an overall outlook of his government’s performance from the data collected by each department.

The flagship welfare programmes include old-age pension scheme, fee reimbursement, overseas education programme for poorer sections, double bedroom housing, KCR Kits and Arogyasri, women development and child welfare schemes mainly Kalyana Lakshmi, residential educational institutions for BC, SC, ST and minorities, welfare measures for farming community, sheep distribution and free fish seed distribution programme in the villages, skill development and competitive exam training programmes for youth and government employment were among the main programmes given top priority by the TRS government. State Chief Secretary SK Joshi already got down to dig into the data from each department and district and upload the same on the Dashboard installed in his office in the Secretariat.

Speaking at the Babasaheb BR Ambedkar's 127th birth anniversary at Inavolu in Amaravati, Naidu said that if the Congress had ruined the state, BJP had further destroyed whatever was left. "The Prime Minister first promised SCS and then said it was not possible and in its place offered special package. Finally, even that was not delivered and now they are speaking about special purpose vehicle," Naidu said.

Training his guns at the Prime Minister, Naidu wondered what purpose Modi's one-day hunger strike had severed. You have gone hunger strike for the washout of Parliament session. But who is responsible for it? It was you only,": he said and sounded warning to him that he would be playing a key role in national politics after 2019 elections.

"I will decide who should be the prime minister after the election and which party should be in power," Naidu said at a public meeting for the first time though he was making these comments with his confidants. "I am sure the BJP would not get majority of seats in Loik Sabha this time," he said.

He recalled TDP was playing key role in deciding who should be the prime minister or the president or the speaker of Lok Sabha in the past and this will repeat in 2019.

Chandrababu Naidu came down heavily on Modi for trying to dabble in Tamil Nadu-style politics in Andhra Pradesh. "The BJP wants a weak leader like YS Jaganmohan Reddy as the chief minister in the state and that was the reason why it was encouraging YSRC despite the fact that he was neck deep in cases," Naidu said and ridiculed Modi for saying that he was not discriminatory against southern states and pointed out that AP was a classic example of what discimiantion by the Centre is.
