Road Safety Week launched in Kothagudem
Kothagudem: Stating that all people should know the traffic rules, Joint Collector M Ram Kishan directed the officials of departments concerned to organise awareness programmes on traffic rules in villages, towns and cities.
He participated in week-long Road Safety Week programme organised by Roads and Transport Authority here on Monday.
Ram Kishan said most of the accidents occur due to careless driving or driving after drinking or using mobiles. Drivers of two-wheelers should compulsorily wear helmet whole those driving four-wheelers must wear seat belt, he suggested.
The officials were told to conduct awareness classes for youth about rash and cell phone driving. The JC stated that life is more important above all.
Before the meeting, Joint Collector Ram Kishan released a pamphlet on road safety. The road safety week will continue till April 30.
District RTA Officer Krishna Reddy, MVIs Pullaiah, Vijaya Shanthi, District Revenue Officer Kiran Kumar, District Rural Development Agency Project Director P Jagath Kumar Reddy, Revenue Divisional Officer Ravindernath and others participated in the programme.
