Govt moots multi-level car parking complexes in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: The State government is planning for multi-level car parking complexes in a big way. Principal Secretary Municipal Administration Arvind Kumar said that the government was taking up multi-level car parking complexes in Hyderabad under the public private partnership mode.
Presiding over a meeting of senior officers at the Metro Rail Bhavan on Wednesday, he instructed officers of different departments to come out with specific proposals about their requirements in the plots identified by them for multi-level car parking complexes.
He said that the Request for Proposal (RFP) for multi-level car parking complexes would be floated soon and HMRL would act as a coordinating agency for the project. He assured all the departments that the property and revenue of the multi-level car parking project would rest with the concerned government department/organisation.
All the multi-level car parking lots would be part of the Integrated Smart Parking Management System of the Telangana police department, he added.
During the meeting, the Managing Director of HMRL NVS Reddy outlined the salient features, the innovative PPP model and the advanced technologies to be used in the multi-level parking (MLP) complexes project. He said that about 30 to 40 MLPs would be built in the city in this model.
The meeting was attended by Additional DGP L&O Jitender, Metropolitan Commissioner, HMDA Chiranjeevulu, Additional Secretary Law, officials from GHMC, TSIIC, TSRTC, Transport, Agriculture & Marketing and senior engineers from HMRL.
