Implement ESI policy to all the workers: KCR tells officials

Hyderabad : Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has instructed the officials concerned to prepare a plan to implement ESI policy to all the workers in the State. He wanted the implementation of insurance policy for the construction labourers.
 
The Chief Minister held a review meeting on Labour Welfare at Pragati Bhavan here on Saturday. Labour Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy, Chief Advisor Rajiv Sharma, Principal Secretary S Narsing Rao, Secretary Nadeem, legislators E Dayakar Rao, Srinivas Goud, Vittal Reddy, Ravindra Kumar, Jeevan Reddy, Prashanth Reddy and Manchireddy Kishan Reddy, CMO Special Secretary Bhoopal Reddy and others participated.
 
KCR has instructed the officials to prepare a report on how many number of workers are there in the unorganised sector, organised sector, what are the measures are taken for their health, welfare and insurance? He instructed that the ESI facility should be extended to the workers who are not covered under the Scheme. It should be extended to the construction workers also. Aadhar should be linked to all the workers and they should be registered in the labour department. He said another meeting would take place after the May Day in which several key decisions will be made on the workers.
