KCR trumpets national entry; roars Jai Bharat

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Friday asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president Amit Shah, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and AICC president Rahul Gandhi to answer who was responsible for the failure to provide water to farmers even though there was 70,000 tmc ft of water available in the country.

Addressing the TRS 17th plenary here, the Chief Minister said the country was asking whose failure it was that while there was availability of 70,000 tmc ft of water, neither there was water in farms nor for drinking.  “You both have ruled for 70 years, there is no water for the farmers nor have the farms. India is asking you... who is responsible for this attitude. Is this not your failure,” questioned Chandrashekar Rao.

The TRS chief said his statement from the Hyderabad plenary would create a tremor. He said he would unite the regional parties in the country and would strive for bringing qualitative change. He said the party would free the people from the clutches of the Congress and the BJP. There were resources in the country and the need was to have out-of-the-box thinking.

The TRS president said he would be meeting DMK leader Stalin on April 29. Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav is slated to come to the State. He said there was nothing like KCR front as claimed by the Opposition parties. “You wanted me to have a key role in the national politics. Country is surprised with the development in the State. During the last one-and-a-half year, after seeing the attitude of the Central government and as per the last four decades of my experiences, I can tell you what needs to be done in the country is not being done. There is a flaw and that needs to be corrected,” Chandrashekar Rao said.

The TRS leader asked whether the Congress and the BJP only had ‘thekedari’ (contract) to talk on national politics. “Rahul Gandhi says KCR is Narendra Modi’s agent. Whether the Congress and the BJP have taken the ‘thekedari’ of talking on national politics?  Others do not have right to talk? One BJP leader says there is no tent for the front. If there is no tent for the front, then why are you afraid if it? It is the fear of KCR... because once KCR starts, he never goes back... I will fight the way I achieved Telangana,” said Chandrashekar Rao.

KCR said that Congress had ruled for 55 years, BJP for 11 years and others five and half years. If there is anger on Congress people would vote BJP. They have adapted the politics of winning by default. He alleged that the Congress and BJP were enacting dramas on Cauveri River.

“If the BJP government was for resolving the Cauvery waters, they would have talked in 2014. They will not do anything and say that there are water wars in India.

Your inefficient rule is leading to water wars in the country,” said KCR. There is availability of 70,000 tmc ft of water and 40 crore acres of agriculture land in the country. “The Congress or the BJP should answer before they criticise me whether or not there is availability of 70,000 tmc ft of water.

He also questioned the delay in resolving the water issues. He said that the Brijesh Kumar Tribunal was formed in 2004 and it was 2018 now but still they did not resolve.

They would resolve after four more years and this would again go to the Supreme Court and a generation would pass. You create water conflicts and term them as water wars,” he said.

Chandrashekar Rao said the Regional Parties’ Coordination Alliance was getting ready to do justice and justice would

be done. “Within six to seven years, the alliance would show you... your time has come now... be cautious. I warn you from Hyderabad,” he said. The Chief Minister ended his speech by saying ‘Jai Telangana... Jai Bharat’.
