UPSC Civil Services 2017 results: Hyderabad’s Anudeep Durishetty bags top spot

With the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) declaring the final results of Civil Service examinations 2017 on Friday, Hyderabad’s Anudeep Durishetty has emerged to be the topper. 

A total of 990 candidates (750 men and 240 women) were recommended by the Commission for various central government positions.

An officer from Indian Revenue Services posted in Hyderabad and originally from Metpally in Telangana, Anudeep Durishetty has bagged the top position in the UPSC Civil Services examination with Anu Kumari securing the second rank and Sachin Gupta the third spot.

Aimed to fill 1,098 Central Government positions of Grade 1 and 2, the positions included in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), the Indian Police Service (IPS), and the Indian Foreign Service (IFS).

The UPSC Civil Services 2017 exam had a total of 9,57,590 candidates apply and 4,56,625 candidates appearing for the preliminary examination held on June 18, 2017. 13,366 candidates qualified for the exam conducted in October-November 2017, while 2,568 qualified for the Personality Test held in February-April 2018.

Scheduled for June 3rd, 2018, the last date to apply for the UPSC Civil Services 2018 Preliminary examination was March 6th.
