Congress ammo to expose graft by KCR, kin

Hyderabad: The Congress has changed its strategy of its fight against the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) by leveling charges of corruption against the Chief Minister and his family members.

The party wants to show to the people that the leaders of the TRS have been indulging in shady deals and have neglected the wellbeing of the State. It feels that now it is the time to expose the political bosses of the government for their wrongdoings.

Though the Congress has been making allegations of corruption against the government, now Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President N Uttam Kumar Reddy has entered the scene with accusations against the Chief Minister and his Cabinet colleagues.

Congress leaders A Revanth Reddy, T Jeevan Reddy, DK Aruna, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and others have already made several allegations against the State government. They have pointed out that the political bosses of the government have entered into murky deals with businessmen and industrialists.

They alleged that corruption has taken place in encouraging the sand mafia, land mafia, implementation of Mission Bhagiratha, possessing valuable properties at cheaper rate and others and Ministers like KT Rama Rao, E Rajendar, Jupally Krishna Rao and G Jagadiswar Reddy have indulged in nepotism.

Of late the TPCC President has come up with the allegation that the Industries Minister KT Rama Rao has made an undue favor to a company and quid pro co arrangement was there behind it.

The TPCC President and few senior leaders of the party have confined themselves to criticise the policies of the government so far. They have faulted the negligence of issues of farmers, unemployed, minorities, SCs and STs. The leaders have also pointed out that the ruling party has failed to keep the promises it made to the people.

These issues have been highlighted in the ‘Praja Chaitanya Bus Yatra’ being held in the State and also in several meetings being organised by the party in various districts. However, now it seems that the party has decided to change strategy and to attack the Chief Minister and members of his cabinet with a political strategy.

A senior leader of the party said that criticising the policies of the government was not enough to improve the image of the Congress among the people. The party should expose the Chief Minister and Cabinet members on the corruption which would brighten the prospects of the party.  He said the ruling party is depending more on the charisma of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for winning the elections and it could not possible to defeat if the image of KCR remains intact.
