It’s Suraj again

Vijayawada: Bhogi Suraj Krishna of Srikakulam district topped the AP EAMCET 2018 in the engineering stream, while Jangala Sai Supriya from Visakhapatnam stood first in the Agricultural and Medical stream.

Suraj Krishna has topped the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE-Mains) for admissions to engineering colleges across the country, with over 2.3 lakh students, qualifying the test whose results were declared recently by the CBSE.

HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao released the results of the AP EAMCET-2018 on Wednesday. Second rank in engineering was secured by Gattu Mytraya of Ranga Reddy district and third rank by Pinnamreddy Lokeswar Reddy of YSR Kadapa district.
   
Supriya is a student of Sri Chaitanya College in Vizag. Her father, Jangala Varahala Gupthajee, is working as DGM in Hinduja power plant. Expressing happiness over the first rank secured by his daughter, he said his daughter aims for a seat in AIIMS, Delhi and has been working towards this for a long time.  

The second rank in Agriculture and Medical stream was secured by Ganjikunta Sreevathsav of Kurnool district and third rank by Koduru Sriharsha of Krishna district. Gosula Laxman Rao and M Dastagiri of Ranga Reddy district secured the fourth and fifth ranks respectively with combined score of 147.99, and 93.78. Even sixth and seventh ranks went to Basavaraju Chengal Raju and A Venkata Phani Vamsinath of Ranga Reddy district, respectively with combined score of 93.51 and 92.86. 

Eighth rank was secured by KVR Hemanth Kumar Chodipilli of Visakhapatnam with combined score of 92.71. Ninth rank was secured by Boddapati Yagneswar of Guntur with combined score of 92.67 and tenth rank by Mukku Vishnu Manogna of Ranga Reddy with combined score of 92.56.
    
Agriculture and medical rankers
The fourth rank was secured by Gande Adarsh of Karimnagar district with combined score of 92.12 and fifth rank secured by Shaik Janubhai Rafia Kulsum of Anantapur district with combined score of 91.95. 

The sixth rank was secured by Muktevi Jaya Surya of Hyderabad with combined score of 91.95 and seventh rank got by Nalluri Venkat Vijay Krishna of Guntur with combined score of 91.31. The eighth rank was secured by Venkata Sai Amrutha Neeli of Guntur with combined score of 91.21 and ninth rank by V N Tarun Varma Bellamkonda of Vizag with combined score of 91.18. The tenth rank went to Onteru Venkata Sai Harshavardhan Reddy of Nellore with combined score of 91.16. 

In all, 1,99,325 candidates applied for the engineering stream and 1,90,922 appeared for the online examination out of which 1,26,197 candidates were qualified, which was 72.28 per cent. In Agriculture and Medical stream, 76,748 candidates applied and 73,373 candidates appeared for the examination out of which 63,883 candidates were qualified, which was 87.06 per cent.

Ganta Srinivasa Rao said that in both the streams the qualifying percentage was less compared to the last year. He said the results were announced in a record time. He recalled that before 2014, the EAMCET results were announced in two months but now it takes less than 10 days so that the passed candidates will not go to other states for admissions.
