Hyderabad: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State unit president Dr K Laxman on Monday said that the party national president Amit Shah will be holding a meeting with the State party leaders on May 14 in Delhi to chalk out a roadmap for the party activities in the State.

Addressing media here on Monday, Laxman said that the meeting will take place after the completion of polling for the Karnataka State Assembly elections. He said that the party national president will review the party activities and issues to finalise a roadmap to give a fillip to the party's year-long campaign to come to power in Telangana.

However, ahead of Amit Shah's June visit to the city, party national secretary will arrive in the city for a two-day visit on May 17, he added. Expressing confidence that the Telugu people in Karnataka are with the BJP, Laxman said, "Telugu people in Karnataka are making it clear that they have nothing to do with the issues in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, rather they want development where they are living."

Despite the two Telugu State Chief Ministers asking them not to support BJP, Telugu people in Karnataka are openly expressing their support to the development agenda of the party, he added. Giving details of various development projects sanctioned by the Centre to the State government, BJP State president said, "Ministers from the State praise the Centre in Delhi, but once back in the State they criticise the Centre."

Demanding that the State government immediately notify the recruitment calendar to fill up 1.12 lakh vacant posts in the government sector, he said, "failure on the part of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government is pushing the unemployed youth in the State into despair and to resort to commit suicides," he said. Referring to one Venkata Ramana committing suicide in Kodigatla of Suryapet mandal, he said, "The prime reason to the youth ending his life was that despite being qualified, he could not get employment."
