Hyderabad : Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Chief Spokesperson Dr. Dasoju Sravan has alleged that the 'Rythu Bandhu' scheme launched by TRS Government was not farmers, but their votes.

Addressing a press conference in Bhootpur of Mahabubnagar district on Friday, Sravan said that the present 'Rythu Bandhu' scheme was not helpful for farmers. He said that the TRS Government was trying to escape from its responsibility by paying Rs. 4,000 per acre. He said that the government should have prepared a comprehensive policy wherein farmers should have been given proper MSP and bonus on their produce. Further, he said farmers should have been supplied seeds and fertilizers on subsidy.

Sravan alleged that the TRS Government neglected the farm sector for four years and came up with a new scheme just in view of elections. Stating that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao was responsible for suicide by over 4,500 farmers, he said that KCR was trying to wash off his sins by paying just Rs. 4,000 per acre to farmers. KCR's sins are so grave that they could not be washed off even by paying Rs. 40,000.

The Congress leader also alleged that TRS Government has spent over Rs. 300 crore on advertisements of 'Rythu Bandhu' launch. He described it as criminal waste of tax payers money.
