Congress, JD(S) MLAs arrive in Hyderabad

A group of Congress and JD(s) MLAs on Friday morning reached Hyderabad in three buses. The MLAs were lodged at a five-star hotel at Banjara Hills with police making elaborate arrangements at the hotel.

According to the sources, the security has been tightened for the MLAs to ensure there won’t be any poaching attempt made by the BJP.

Following the recent developments in Karnataka after the state threw up a fractured mandate, the Congress and JD(S) MLAs traveled to Bengaluru to be present at the CLP meeting the next day and were shifted to a resort and a hotel respectively due to the allegations of horse-trading doing the rounds.

While the JD(S) MLAs were put up in Hotel Shangrila late on Wednesday evening, the Congress MLAs were placed in Eagleton Resort in Bidadi, 30 km from Bengaluru.

The mood inside Eagleton Resort and Shangrila remained tense throughout Thursday as they were ferried to Vidhana Soudha to stage a dharna near Mahatma Gandhi statue to protest against the misuse of governor’s office and allowing BS Yeddyurappa to take oath as CM.

Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao who has been supporting a third front formation and vocal in his criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was in touch with JD(S) leader HD Kumaraswamy.

Sources revealed that new chief minister B S Yeddyurappa withdrew police security offered to the MLAs staying in the resort following which they arranged security through a private agency.
