Telangana only govt helping farmers: Agriculture Minister

Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy who participated in the Rythu Bandhu programme at Varni Mandal of Banswada Assembly constituency on Friday said that Telangana government is the only government helping the farmers, adding that so far Rythu Bandhu cheques have been issued in 10,556 villages of 599 mandals in 30 districts.

Mentioning that the farmers' incentive scheme has brought in a festive mood in villages and farmers were welcoming the scheme all over the state, he said that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had reviewed the situation of farmers in Telangana ridden with debts and hence decided to issue farmers incentives to help them.

Pocharam Srinivas Redd further said that Telangana government is helping make agriculture a  profitable profession and was issuing Rs 5,730 crore worth of cheques to 58 lakh farmers.
