Modern bus shelters to dot Hyderabad
Hyderabad: In tune with its efforts to make Hyderabad a world class city, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is bringing up modern bus shelters with A/C, Wifi, ATM, CCTV, mobile charging and etc facilities.
Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister K T Rama Rao would inaugurate a modern bus shelter, constructed under public private partnership, at Shilparamam on Tuesday.
The GHMC is bringing up 826 modern bus shelters with various facilities including A/C, Wifi, ATM, CCTV, mobile charging, toilets and etc. The bus shelters have been divided into four grades including Grade-I advanced bus shelters (size 200ft x 30ft), Grade-II proficient bus shelters (size 25ft x 8ft), Grade-III basic bus shelters (20ft x 5ft) and Grade-IV minimal bus shelters (10ft x 5ft and 5ft x 3ft).
Under advanced bus shelters the facilities to be provided include dustbin, separate toilet for men and women, mobile charging points, water dispensing unit on pay and use basis (optional), Wi-fi, ATM/coffee vending machine (optional), Air conditioning in the passenger sit out area, fan, CCTV, and a ticketing machine would be installed at a later date.
Grade-II includes, dustbin, toilet for men and women, mobile charging points, water dispensing unit on pay and use basis (optional), Wi-fi, fan, a ticketing machine would be installed at a later date. In Grade-III, there would be dustbin, mobile charging points, toilet for men and women (optional), water dispensing unit on pay and use basis (optional) and under Grade-IV there would be a dustbin.
City Mayor B Ram Mohan said that the citizens would be provided better facilities, which are being provided in major cities in the world. The GHMC Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy inspected the modern bus shelters on Monday.
