UoH to launch MTech in Information Security

Hyderabad: Considering the high demand for information security professionals, the University of Hyderabad (UoH) has decided to launch a new course in M Tech in Information Security.

A university press release on Friday said that the information Security was a major concern in all organisations. In particular, governments and industries worldwide have forecast a shortage of high demand for information security professionals.

This opens up good employment prospects with local and multinational businesses, governments, financial and banking institutions and consulting firms as IT security specialists, IT security auditors, network and systems specialists and IT security product developers and solution providers.

It was to cater to this growing demand that the School of Computer and Information Sciences, UoH has decided to launch a new M Tech programme in Information Security, with Cyber Security as a specialised stream. The two-year full-time programme would be conducted by C R Rao Advanced Institute of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science (AIMSCS), UoH, from the Academic year 2018-19. Online applications would be invited from GATE qualified candidates of 2016, 2017 and 2018 from June 7 to 30, 2018, it said.

Details of the new course are made available at the URL http://acad. uohyd.ac.in/ downloads/MTIS.pdf. The above programme is approved by AICTE, with intake of 18 seats. Each admitted student will receive AICTE-GATE fellowship.
