Will ‘K’ bring luck to Kodanda?

Update: 2018-05-30 08:05 IST

Hyderabad: Some enthusiasts in the new entrant to state politics – Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) – are firm on bright prospects for their party, for a strange reason. Apart from their leader’s credentials, they are also banking on the letter ‘K’ (K for Kodandaram) to fetch more seats in 2019 elections.

There is a reason behind this new-found optimism amongst some leaders associated with the party. “If we look at Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi or JD(S) that formed the government recently in Karnataka with support of Congress, the leaders at the helm of affairs are Kejriwal and Kumaraswamy respectively.

Incidentally, both have names starting with K very much like TJS chief Kodandaram. Letter K created an impact in elections in two states earlier and the next turn could be Telangana,” thus exult TJS functionaries.

This dreaming apart, their ardent hopes are, of course, based on reality. “Kodandaram sir (as TJS chief is addressed everywhere in Telangana) is looked at with admiration and respect by the people of the state because he acted as the torchbearer for the statehood movement. It is most obvious that sir would be the face of the party unlike other parties.  His honesty, humility and down-to-earth attitude would fetch votes for party candidates more than anything else,” feel the party leaders.

Kumaraswamy, who initially was expected to become a kingmaker in view of hung results in Karnataka, eventually adorns the coveted chief minister post himself. TJS chief Kodandaram, however, is not keen on being reckoned a kingmaker in Telangana. In an interaction with the media a few days ago, he said he would rather be a king than a kingmaker. Ruling out alliance with any party at this stage, he said that TJS would enter into fray for all 119 assembly seats in the State.

Meanwhile, numerology practitioners give interesting views on this issue. Pooja Jain, a numerologist from Digitsndestini, Begumpet, said that numerology or number science had already worked popularly in glamour industry, but it was largely untried and untested in politics. “The system of politics is dynamic and so is the personality of a politician. Elections are held totally on the documented name of the candidate.

So, their name itself is the reason for the party to win or lose the elections. Name and fame can only be earned if the total of your name goes friendly with your destiny. There are specific assigned numbers to gain popularity in the field of politics and serve people,” she says and advises politicians to give it a try.
